Not from here?

We’ve got you covered.

Whether you like nature, history, architecture, food, or entertainment, we are so excited to share our corner of the world with you.

Please see a small selection of what Buffalo has to offer below. If you would like more suggestions, please just ask us!

Our Favorite Places

  • If you have your passport or Enhanced Drivers License, you can cross the border and explore Niagara Falls, Canada. This is one of our favorite places in the whole world. There is a wonderful blend of nature, education (like the Niagara Parks Power Station) and entertainment (we particularly love the Midway Arcade and ferris wheel).

If you don’t want to drive, you can park in Niagara Falls, US, and walk across the Rainbow Bridge. (Pro tip: walking makes going through border patrol MUCH easier.)

  • Niagara Falls is an absolute must-see. You can access most of the state park and the viewing platforms for free, but to really experience the power of the Falls, we highly recommend taking the time to do the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour and/or the thrilling Cave of the Winds.

More information can be found here: https://parks.ny.gov/parks/46/

  • “Canalside is at the heart of downtown Buffalo's waterfront revitalization. Located at the 1825 terminus of the Erie Canal, the site's storied history is just as exciting as its future! Canalside hosts hundreds of events throughout the year, many of which are free or low cost to the public. You'll find concerts and festivals, summer fitness classes and ice skating presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York, children's programming, history tours, and outdoor winter activities.

Dine. Workout. Concert. Skate. Revel. Chill. At Canalside, fun happens here!”

  • Where else on earth can you zipline into a grain silo painted like a shark, do a ropes course a few stories above a hockey arena, and then play in a virtual reality arcade?

“Buffalo RiverWorks is the city’s premier waterfront, boating, sports bar, music and entertainment destination located along the banks of the Buffalo River.”

  • This is one of the most unique things Buffalo has to offer: a 54 acre park where you can go dig up and keep fossils!

“Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve is a 54-acre park located the site of a former cement quarry in Hamburg, NY. Our visitors can collect and keep Devonian Period fossils including trilobitesbrachiopodscrinoids, and more! Penn Dixie — a global geological treasure — is ranked as the #1 fossil park in the U.S. in a 2011 scientific study. In 2018, Penn Dixie claimed the Guinness World Records™ title for the World’s Largest Fossil Dig. Thanks to 905 fossil diggers who participated, Penn Dixie is now the inaugural record holder for this category! We are also tremendously proud for Penn Dixie to be honored as one of the first members of New York State’s new geological trail. We are thankful to be recognized as an economic, scientific, cultural, and conservation gem.”

History & Architecture

  • “The multi-structure estate (1903-05) that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for Darwin D. Martin is a masterpiece of 20th century architecture. The Martin House is widely considered one of Wright’s finest Prairie houses – a signature work from the early years of his celebrated career. Wright himself referred to the Martin House as “the opus” and kept the site plan pinned to his drawing table for close to fifty years.

Today the Martin House has been completely-restored to its former magnificence in the most ambitious restoration of a Frank Lloyd Wright site ever undertaken. Three of the original elements — the pergola, conservatory and carriage house, which were demolished decades ago – are rebuilt in the first-ever reconstruction of Wright buildings.”

  • “The Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park is the largest inland Naval Park in the United States. Located on Buffalo’s Waterfront, this unique family destination features four decommissioned Naval vessels that served in a variety of military conflicts in our nation’s history.

The USS Little Rock is the last surviving vessel from the Cleveland-class of light cruisers in the world. The USS The Sullivans, the first ship in the U.S. Navy to be named for more than one person, is one of only four remaining examples from the Fletcher-class of destroyers in the world. The USS Croaker is a Gato-class submarine on the National Register of Historic Places. The PTF-17 is one of only 20 fast patrol boats from the Nasty-class to be built. It was used as a high-speed reconnaissance and patrol craft in Vietnam.

The Buffalo Naval & Military Park also features a beautifully manicured Monuments GardenMuseumUnited States Military Exhibits, and a Maritime Simulator.”
